Eligibility
The Shoestring Film Festival is open to filmmakers of all ages and experience levels. Submissions are encouraged from residents of Hudson, MA and surrounding communities, though all Mass. residents are welcome unless otherwise specified.
Original Work
The submitted film must be the original work of the entrant, or the entrant must have full permission from all participants involved. By submitting, the entrant confirms they have the right to submit the film for exhibition.
Rights & Permissions
The entrant is responsible for securing all necessary rights, permissions, and clearances, including but not limited to music, images, likenesses, and copyrighted material. The Shoestring Film Festival is not responsible for copyright violations.
Exhibition Rights
By submitting, the entrant grants the Shoestring Film Festival permission to screen the film during the festival and related events as well as non-exclusive distribution rights to include selected films in archival DVDs. The entrant also grants permission for the festival to use still images, clips (up to 30 seconds), and film titles for promotional purposes.
Selection & Screening
All submissions will be reviewed, but submission does not guarantee selection or screening. Programming decisions are final.
Content Responsibility
The views expressed in submitted films are those of the filmmaker and do not necessarily reflect the views of the the Shoestring Film Festival, its organizers, or the judges involved.
Withdrawal
Films may be withdrawn prior to the submission deadline by contacting the festival organizers. Once selected, films may not be withdrawn without prior approval.
Liability
The Shoestring Film Festival and its organizers are not responsible for lost, damaged, or corrupted files. Filmmakers agree to hold said festival harmless from any claims arising from their submission.
Use of Generative AI
If suspected within reason, the festival organizers will disqualify any projects that exhibit the use of generative AI. Any filmmakers that have been confirmed to use generative AI in their submissions may be banned from submitting in the future.
