The goal of the Shoestring Film Fest is to celebrate ingenuity. It challenges participants to rely solely on their creativity and problem solving to make the story and project that they want to make.
With so many platforms that use algorithms, pushing passion projects to the bottom of the queue in favor of quick content, this is a chance for you to see your story on the big screen.
Of course, there’s no way for us to enforce a zero dollar budget – but as part of our terms and conditions, we will be relying on the word of filmmakers who submit that their work is: A. zero dollar budget, and B. AI-free.
All participants are encouraged to submit a small bio about their project along with the finished file, highlighting how they managed with a zero budget limitation.
Any indication of the use of AI generated content in a submission will result in immediate disqualification, and potential banning from future submissions.
